Born in 1974 in Smolensk Denis Kirpanyov graduated from the local Glinka Regional Music School and after that continued his education in Moscow' Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.

Being a student he started working as a Choirmaster, and then as the Principal Choirmaster and Conductor of the Moscow Helikon-Opera Musical Theater under the guidance of Dmitry Bertman. He also trained there in the specialty 'opera and symphony conducting' with the help of Professor, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Ponkin. Denis Kirpanyov and the Helikon-Opera team toured together various Russian regions and more than twenty foreign countries.

From 2001 to 2007 Denis Kirpanyov was the Principal Conductor of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater, taught at the Faculty of Musical Theater of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS), led the creative workshops of the Faculty. Afterwards he led the Surgut Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Denis Kirpanyov honed his skills with the help of People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Simonov, for many years collaborated with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra being its Conductor in 2006-2011.

He worked with Evgeny Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, Veronica Dudarova Symphony Orchestra as well as Moscow State Symphony Orchestra under Pavel Kogan, Saratov and Nyzhny Novgorod Philharmonic Orchestras, Karelia State Symphony Orchestra, Krasnodar Premyera Musical Theatre and many others.

He collaborates with the Kremlin Ballet Theater, the International Ballet Festival in the Kremlin, and the Kremlin Summer Seasons ballet project.
Since 2014, Denis Kirpanev has been the Conductor of the Orpheus Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2015-2018 he was conducting the final stages of the Orpheus Radio young composers competition. Recordings of concerts were broadcast in the programme 'Through Czerny to the Stars'.

In 2018-2019 he participated in the Orpheus Radio 'Winter Orchestra' project where conducted the world premiere of the Orpheus Overture, a piece written by composer Efrem Podhaits specifically for the project.
